Efficient, but unreliable

This high tech wonder produces endless hot water and even heat - no short cycling with this efficient modulating boiler. Unfortunately, within a few months of installation, I started getting a water flow blocking error that would require a reset and 20 minute de-aeration cycle to correct. Sometimes it worked for a few months without error, sometimes it would need to be reset four times a day. The installer could not figure out the problem. The regional Rinnai rep couldn't either. He promised to replace the boiler and then I never heard from him again. I'm not sure what is more disappointing, the unreliable boiler, or the unreliable company that made it. High efficiency is worthless if your product is too complicated to be repaired by an average HVAC technician.
