It's a sock.
It's a sock that covers the clear housing for your filter. It does what socks do, protect. Works as expected but does not hurt my feet. And, they don't come in pairs.

No more algae in my well pump filter
This cover slips right on, perfect fit. I no longer need to worry about algae build up in the filter I use for my outdoor well pump. Now I only need to clean filter for sediment build up.

Too short for 1" Rusco Sediment Trapper filter
SS1 shield will not fit 1" Rusco Sediment Trapper filters as the SS1 is too short. It will fit only 1" Rusco Spin-Down filters. You need to order SS1.5 shield for 1" Rusco Sediment Trapper filters in order to cover entire height of the filter housing.
The old shields last about 3 years in Florida sun and greatly reduced algae growth on inside of filter housing.
