Maybe because its new to me im not so good at it.
1/4/ and 3/8 worked well, 1/2" giving me trouble, not sure of the cause, but it seems like it needs 3 flaring flutes instead of 2. I paid close attention to operating parameters, i think some type of restraining device is in order for 1/2" and up, maybe a flaring tool clamp will fill the tool, i find i have trouble holding the work stationary will operating the spin flaring tool in the larger diameters, especially when the piece to be flared is shorter and not in a fixed position.

I blinked and the tool finished.(1/2" OD). If you do any kind of flare fitting for work buy this.
