Uglier than the original and with a shorter rod...
This replacement lever may function but it has a larger and uglier looking lever design than the smaller and much more elegant original levers found on older Toto toilets. The other problem is that the rod length in the tank is also much shorter than even the newer Toto toilet levers and only offers one hole mounting for the chain instead of the multiple holes found on original levers. This can be a problem for some Toto toilets that need to use the hole near the end of the longer original rods. Toto made a bad decision when designing this as a more universal lever replacement.

Better than original
My 2007 Toto toilets had the long 3 hole arm and the handle ball joint gradually became very loose. The chrome plating was flaking and they looked terrible.
These new levers are shorter and fit perfectly. Work as well as the old lever (when it was new).
Hopefully the shorter arm puts less strain on the handle ball joint so it doesn't become loose after a few years.

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffHi Lisa. This has a rod length of 10". These typically come in 8" - 10" lengths, and unfortunately it does not look like there are any options with a 4-1/2" rod.
