Description

The centrifugal atomizing humidifiers are installed onto the return duct where a superfine mist is generated, quickly absorbed into the air, and distributed into the home. The ComfortBreeze CB777 can also operate as a free standing unit where a superfine mist is fed directly in to a room. The humidistat automatically controls the operations to ensure that the proper amount of moisture is added in to the air. The humidistat is either installed on the interior wall or in the cold air return duct upstream from the unit. There are no pads or filters to change, so maintenance is minimized.

Features:
  • Installation is quick and easy.
  • Easy Assembly - Just fit the dome snugly on top of the pan – and that’s it!
  • 120V wall or duct-mount humidistat is easily adjustable from 20% to 80% relative humidity.
  • Centrifugal atomizing humidifiers are installed onto the return duct or as a free-standing unit where a superfine mist is fed directly to a room.
  • Includes an independent mounting bracket

8year review, good product

I saw the other customers product review and thought I should share my experience as a contractor. We installed the older version of this humidifier in a high end cigar humidoor in a clients house about 8 years ago. Cigars must be kept at a consistent temperature and humidity level at all times. So we used this unit set up with a humidistat, its own water supply, ro water filter system, drain lift pump and flood stop sensors, all built into a water proof basin and installed in a attic behind the humidoor. It has basically ran non-stop for 8 years without any problems (yeah 8 years, appliances don't last that long these days, everything is disposable cr ap, washer dryer central air, you name it, it has a 6year life. So 8 years on this little guy is great as far as I'm concerned, But back to the review). It does however get some barnacle looking funk build up in it after awhile, easily cleaned buy taking the upper part outside or to a sink and rinsing it out once or twice a year. Now it is installed directly behind the humidoor, not far to push the humid air. It you expect this to push air to your whole house, it won't, its not meant to. I would suggest setting it up inline with your hvac system, so it pumps the humidity into the duct and the air handler pushes it threw the house. The float switch works fine and seems adequate to me. It was slightly noisy due to vibration, to resolve we put it on a foam drawer liner and used a few squeeze clamps on the top and bottom pieces. For water supply we used 1/4" tubbing at normal house pressure (fyi thats typically around 35psi at the meter), no problems with a leak ever, although we still took the precaution of the flood stop sensors. After 8 years the motor has finally died, which is why I'm here to purchase a replacement unit. Good productif you set it up correctly.

did they send me a prototype?>

I've order this unit to use as a whole house humidifier. From a description it looked like a "the one" product I was looking for. Boy, what a surprise it was when I got the package and opened the box. Where do I start. Are you ready? it came in nicely packed box, and that the only positive thing I can say about it. Upon ignition evaluation, I was looking for UL label and couldn't find one. It definitely didn't peal off as I've check the box and it wasn't there. That tells me that this product was NEVER UL listed. If you're HAVAC pro like myself, installing it for a customer would be a bomb waiting to go off. If they get electrocuted or burn down the house, it would be your fault. But I was gonna install it in my own house. So I was gonna take a chance. What could possibly go work with such as primitively designed humidifier? After all, it looked like I've received a half working prototype, cause nobody in their right mind would try to mass produce it and hope sucker me would buy it, right? So, I assembled it, hooked up cord, added water and turned it on. I manually filled with a water, as I didn't have too much faith in built in float switch. Flimsy valve with a float didn't look liked it would hold 60psi city water pressure. It had overflow hole with a metal bushing, but it must be a metric size, as I couldn't find a hose that would fit it. Humidified is using direct drive motor with centrifugal plastic fan that sucks water from plastic tray and mixing it with air and discharge from the top. Any excess water drips back around motor back into tray. Simple design with a primitive execution. Centrifugal fan is plastic and unbalanced. High RPM and sucked water make it vibrate like it's category 5 earthquake. Plastic tray comes with a wire rack that you supposed to attach to furnace plenum. Designers forgot that these vibrations will carry via metal duct system throughout whole house.

would NOT order again

We have used the CB777 in the past, we have many experimental rooms that need humidity, BUT within in the last 3 years these have not lasted a year. Even with regular maintenance they break down. Our lab is looking for something that actually lasts.

this was a replacement

My parents had one of these hooked up to the furnace many years ago. It was taken out so I bought this one to replace it. This one is not as nice looking or well made as the one they had. I sort of looks like a cheap knock off. But it works just a well. I guess that is what counts. I will say the Supply House is great. I ordered on the wednesday before Thanksgiving at 4:08PM, at 5:38PM I got a message saying it had shipped. I received it on the sat.

Just what I needed!

It's a humidifier; I use it to raise the humidity level in my house in the winter. It is perfect for my needs, and the folks at Supply House are the greatest! The price was far less than other sources of the exact same product, delivery was quicker than they indicated it would be. All-in-all, the perfect purchase!

Best humidifier

Once you get it hooked up it runs well for the most part. We have installed several with only one having problems initially. The plastic rotor was not adjusted properly at the factory so it rubbed on the housing. After loosening the set screws and moving it up about 5mm it worked fine.

Good for What it Is

This came very wel-packed and with no damage. I'm using this item free-standing in a wine cellar located in the basement of my house. This is a very simple product that is well-enough made for what it purports to do. I am gravity feeding water rather than plumbing it in, which means that it isn't quite as far off the ground as I would prefer, so the floor gets wet, which doesn't matter in this application. The instructions could be better, and the wiring diagrams enlarged and improved. Wiring this product was a bit of a physical challenge, time consuming, but very do-able. Since they sell this for free-standing and integrated into the HVAC system applications, it would be better if they had two versions, with the free-standing version being pre-wired, and with a less-clunky humidistat. If you are handy then I can recommend this item; if not so, either hire someone to install it or buy another product.
