Description

Pre-insulated Wirsbo hePEX™ features oxygen-barrier PEX pipe encased in polyethylene-foam insulation to meet ASHRAE 90.1-2013 energy-code requirements for hydronic piping and radiant heating/cooling applications. The piping is approved for direct burial in soil provided it is not exposed to groundwater. Uponor recommends adding 1/2" of insulation to accommodate for foam compression in direct-burial applications.

Fit my needs perfectly

Ran over 200 feet of new hot water feed line and dedicated return line. Old buried copper lost over 25 degrees. Now I get 120 degree hot water to kitchen in less than 5 secs, with a small recirculation pump.

Good product — need something better

This is good for what it is, but I want a better version which has the tougher insulation jacket, so it can survive mild snakes through a small wall cavity (transition between floors), especially with old metal lathe and plaster walls.

Well worth the money!

In the past I added armaflex insulation as I install PEX tubing or after it is up. I bought this pre-insulated tubing to see if it might save time. It did! The insulation is much tourgher than rubber based armaflex and much less prone to hanging up and ripping when getting pulled through holes and around corners etc. I was able to hang the same amount of tubing in less than half the time that I spent in the past. It really is true... We can learn new things when we get older!

Year round Supply line for detached Garage

Still too early to really review, but I used this for an outdoor line from my house to a Garage. My code is 3.5 feet down, so we buried it there.

Great hard to find product

So much easier than trying to insulate the piping after installation.

Worth the cost

I always say I can insulate things myself but sometimes its just worth the expense of buying it while its done.

ASK A QUESTION

Q: 1' PEX and 1 1/2 insulation. Not sure if they are saying 1 1/2 insulation in diameter total or insulation thickness off PEX. What is the overall diameter of this product? Thanks.
