Any one hesitant to the mega press fittings because of price compared to black iron screw fittings don't be. These press fittings hands down are the most labor saving Viega has come out with. No threader needed,No cutting oil needed, No oily mess to deal with, No Teflon tape needed. In most cases it eliminates the need to have another person on the job running the threader. ZERO LEAKS!!!! Mega press gas fittings are the best thing to happen to the gas piping market since the csst system. This allows a black iron piping system to be installed nearly as fast as the csst but you get the savings on the cost of pipe,no bonding required and the strength of the iron piping. Since we began using the product there have only been a couple of leaks, due to a bad crimp in tight spaces. The pipe nipples will spin in the fitting and not leak, however I would not recommend it be used in place of a union. Work smarter not harder.
