Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffViega PEX Press fittings are now made with the sleeves already inside the fitting. They no longer sell or produce the sleeves separately.
Q: I'm tying into existing fostapex tubing. With the viega pex press, and pex press fittings, is it necessary to use the fostapex prep tool to remove the aluminum sheathing before making the connection, or is it safe to install the sleeves directly over the alluminum? Thanks for any feedback.

Have to strip the aluminum for sure, otherwise it will leak! Sent from my iPhone
You must use the aluminum sheathing tool as the sleeve won't fit. Sent from my iPhone
You have to strip off the aluminum sheathing. I use the Fostapex Prep Tool and it works great.
Q: i have a nibco tool for nibco sleeves they look the same im having a hard time finding the nibco brand will these work?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThe Viega PexPress system was designed for use with Viega components. The system was only tested together with Viega products and not other manufacturers. Looking at NIBCO sleeves they do share a resemblance, however the NIBCO fittings look different then the Viega fittings for PexPress stainless sleeves. And by combining manufacturers you would not bare a warranty.
Q: With these sleeves what are the couplings that go with this for 1/2" pex-AL-pex . would it be 1/2pex-x1/2 brass coupling ? James

Q: Is special Pex tubing required to use Pex press sleeves?

Q: Do these rings work with the propress tools?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThese rings will not work with the ProPress tools because the tools are intended to make a copper connection where these rings are intended for a PEX connection. The rings required to work with the ProPress tools come on the actual ProPress fittings.
