Top pick for unions hands down
Unions are somewhat delicate, yet important parts of any piping system. I've used all brands, but save yourself the hassle of replacing when the casting fails or the brass facing depletes after a few uses and buy one of these domestic fittings. Quality cannot be matched and price is below what the box stores sell bottom of the line unions for. There is no way even in a pinch I will install anything but one of these guys in any future application.

Not a quite what I expected
I had bought Ward unions previously and the quality was much better than other imports. The male ball connector end had more material on it. This is a standard fitting like other imported unions. I expected a Ward fitting to be designed to higher standards.

Unions worked as desired.
Installed two 2" unions on steam boiler take-off risers. Work as intended, with no leaks.

I only use Ward fittings
Quality of a fitting makes a job go much smoother. Leaks on gas or boiler fittings are more expensive to repair than getting a quality product to start with.
