Perfect fit for model 223 3/4" PRV (approx 1993 vintage)
Just what I needed for a leaking model 223 3/4" Watts pressure reducing valve (no strainer). The house was build in 1993 and the current owner says he's been there since 1997 with no problems until now, so it's probably that old.
The kit had parts for a few different models; for the 223 PRV I rebuilt it provides: Diaphragm (heavy rubber), diaphragm protector (thin white plastic), seat and seat seal, seat washer and screw, and o-ring for the bottom cap.
It took about an hour to disassemble and rebuilt; I don't do these every day. I removed the PRV from the line and used a vice to remove the bottom cap; theoretically you don't need to do this but I was working alone and couldn't hold back the PRV body securely to break free the bottom cap. So I put it in a vice.
Next time I might just replace the whole PRV.
