After installation had water pressure creep up. Contacted Watts directly and their drawing indicated an O-ring on the valve seat. Installed ring and no creep/perfect. The supplied cross-section drawing did not show placement of the extra ring.

First the kit is way overpriced considering you get a few O-rings, a washer, screen and diaphram. Yes that last part is critical to the repair. Still the kit is under half the price of a new regulator, so it's worth it. Second, there are no instructions or installation hints. OK, we used std practices including honing the cylinder that holds the O-ringed regulator shaft. Plus we used Parker O-ring lubricant (again not included). You will also need low-strength thread-lock. (You get it by now, NOT included) The GOOD part was that Supply House shipped immediately!!! Plus the repair fixed the failed regulator without having to remove the housing and the pressure holds perfectly.

I was reluctant to swap out the whole unit as I wasn't sure how hard it would be, but this kit did not do the job at all. First of all, no instructions, just a picture. Then it appears that "the bypass ball for 1/2" -1" sizes only are not replaceable" I think this is the key part of the unit. I finally swapped out the entire unit for not much more then this overpriced kit.

The kit is very over priced for what it is, a package of o-rings and washers in a box the size of a pack of cigarettes. It did not fix my valve so I replaced the valve with a new valve that was just a few dollars more than the repair kit. A painful lesson.
