Rain cap very nice but needs special attention
Have yet to experience heavy rain AND heavy wind at the same time so I don't know yet how it will perform. I do know that I was very surprised at how difficult it was to install the rain cap. This is the second z-vent stack I have installed, this one out the roof, the other out the wall. I am a 65 year old woman, with good strength, but I find the z-vent to be just at the edge of my abilities to piece together. Finally figured out that if the pipe is difficult to install, the gasket has unseated and you need to take it apart, reset the gasket, wet the gasket and the pipe and screw the pipe in. The rain cap was different. It was so tight it was nearly impossible to install. If I had to do it over again I would have used my strap wrench and cheated with a lubricant that is unlikely to damage the gasket material, whatever that lubricant might be (check with Z-vent). I would also have attached the cap to the final pipe somewhere other than on my roof BEFORE climbing the ladder to install the capped section of z-vent pipe.

Good protection, easy installation
Be careful with the sharp edges, but otherwise an excellent vent for tankless water heaters. Easy installation with other Z-flex components.
