Utility pumps should not be used continuously and must be unplugged after each use. Unfortunately we do not carry any gas-powered utility pumps.
I have a PEX Model 44 and as I understand it, if there is not enough water to pump it will shot off and then sample at some interval and pump if there is sufficient water. In any case, I have had one running for 24 hours now it and it does not appear to be hot.
This is a utility pump that should be unplugged after each use.
