I have a south-facing location of my backflow device and the black colored (possibly ABS)cap spider-cracked and fell apart after 6+ years.
I am happy that Supply House carried the OEM Part.

Didn't Fit 2012 version of same valve
I bought as replacement for a sun damaged brittle cap from 2012 install. It's the exact same cap model and markings but the holes were off by 1/4". I ended up widening holes and force fitting onto the valve.
