Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThis tool works with copper crimp rings, not stainless steel clamp rings. It is a high-quality tool that comes with heads for various crimp sizes and a go-no-go gauge to confirm that connections were made properly.
I only use it with copper rings. by "clamps" are you referring to the stainless variety? For copper rings it is excellent. I did an entire 2500 sq ft house with two baths, kitchen, etc., along with hydronic heating system and didn't have one bad crimp.
Good no problems w/100+ Crimps we have in the Facility.
It works excellent, if you are talking about the metal ring you place around the end of the Pex Tubing, you the squeeze it once, and its done, allow about a 3/16" to 1/4" to stick up avove the metal ring. I just build a brand new house using all Pex, and not one leak.
Q: Will this tool work with hePex? If I am using 3/4" tubing which fitting would you recommend for a 3/4" copper tubing to pex connection.

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffYou can use crimp-style fittings on Uponor hePEX tubing. Part H020750 would let you connect 3/4" copper to 3/4" PEX using this method.
That kit will worth on connecting pex to pex. To connect to copper, use one of the push on connector/adapters available at the big box stores. Sent from my iPad Edward Hartline
Yes, this is the best tool to use. All you need is in the kit. Easy to use.
Not exactly sure what you mean by "hePex" I'm assuming it should've said "the"? The tool pictured comes with different inserts to fit each size of Pex. Use the right insert, the crimp ring and you're in business. As far as your 2nd question goes I personally like Shark bite fittings. You just push the copper in one end and the pex in the other. Haven't had one leak yet. Best of luck with your project!

yes, barbed for pex crimp on one end, threaded for galvenized (or whatever) at the other
This is only for crimping crimp rings on the Pex tubing.
I have seen brass npt fittings with pex connectors on the other end in some box stores. I would think you would be able to find some at pexsupply

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThere are several different ways. A SharkBite U058 fitting works with both copper and PEX and doesn't require soldering or any PEX tools.
You need a PEX copper pipe adaptor such as this one http://www.pexsupply.com/HydroPEX-H023850-3-8-PEX-x-1-2-Copper-Pipe-Brass-Adapter-13740000-p
Use the 1/2in to 3/4in pex coupling. I'll link to the crimp fitting equivalent: http://www.pexsupply.com/HydroPEX-H015075-1-2-PEX-x-3-4-PEX-Brass-Coupling-3697000-p

It's the crimp tool and it includes a tool to make sure the crimp is perfectly round.

it's just the crimper, it comes with thecrimp plyers, and three different size fittings for 3/8", 1/2", and 3/4" crimps Make sure you have enough room where you put your pex pipe to put the plyers in the ceiling or wall far enough to get a crimp, I found that the expander tool is best for tight spots since you can expand the pipe outside of the wall then push it back in to make the connection

This method does not require an expander. The fittings are press fit and then you put the clamp on it and compress it with the crimper. There is a template gauge used to ensure the crimp is good. I haven't used it much, but seems to work well.
