LG Mini-Split, Duct-Free Air Conditioning Installation & Warranty Info

We recommend the installation of all LG Ductless Split Systems to be done by a licensed, trained & qualified HVAC technician with the proper knowledge and background. A trained technician will be able to judge the best location for the air handling (evaporator) unit and also the correct size for the area it has to cool.

Should you experience an issue during the installation or the initial startup of the unit please do not contact the manufacturer. You should have the technician that installed the units contact us or the manufacturer. LG cannot accept any service or warranty calls from anybody but a licensed HVAC technician. We have a full technical support team available to help you throughout the installation process should the need arise.

Neither we or LG Electronics U.S.A. can be held liable for improper installation and operation of any LG air conditioning product purchased from our company. Should a warranty issue arise where parts will need to be replaced, an installation receipt will be required along with your sales receipt. Failure to provide a receipt or invoice may result in the warranty not being honored.

Note: Warranties on mini split air conditioners only include parts and do not include labor. The licensed HVAC Technician who installs your air conditioner should always provide you with a labor warranty (preferably for a full year to compliment the manufacturers' parts warranty).

Works great

This was installed by me but hired a HVAC guy to pressure test and purge. The unit works great but have found a few problems. The thermostat is off. To keep the room at 70 you set it for 74. Fan is extremely quiet you have to put your hand at the vent to tell it's running. The fittings on the outside unit are not your normal ones. The HVAC guy needed an adapter to connect his AC guages to it. Also it only uses one hose to the outside unit when testing and not two as with regular outside units. I am thinking of putting one in my parents house.

Disappointed

Purchased May 2010, installed myself, not too difficult, instructions pretty good. Unit failed Jan 2011, service manual lacking but did point to trouble, bad thermistors on wall unit. Tried LG website, will not accept model number. Called customer service, transferred many times until a person in there service department was kind enough to help. Needed specs on thermistors to prove bad. Informed no warranty if installed myself. Replaced part, now working again. Called customer service, no reimbursement for cost of part if not replaced by a trained technician. I was disappointed that the equipment failed so soon, and in customer service except for the technician that helped me, and with the so called warranty.

This unit requires a 208 or 230 volt power supply.

The outside unit is 115 volts it is not 208. It tells the voltage right in the description. Plus I have the unit installed in my house.

Q: What are the pieces of equipment needed in addition to the two units for a complete package? Are the units pre-charged?

You will also need a 1/4" x 1/2" line set and the proper electrical wiring. The outdoor unit includes enough refrigerant for charging the indoor coil and a 25' line set.

The line set for connecting the two units is needed and a base pad makes for a nice installation.
