USED THIS PRODUCT FOR THE WHOLE BASEMENT JOB. MOST OF MY CRIMPING, I USED A 4"VISE, PREMEASURED MY PIPE LENGTHS AND CRIMPED ON THE NEEDED CONNECTORS WITH MY VICE. NOW YOU HAVE ONLY TO HAND CRIMP A FEW CONNECTIONS. IN REALLY TOUGH PLACES I USE SHARKBITE CONNECTORS. NOTE: BEFORE USING ON YOUR JOB, PRACTICE USING IT FIRST, CRIMP SOME OLD PIPE, PLAY AROUND WITH IT, GET TO KNOW THE TOOL FIRST! ALSO, USE TIGHT FITTING RUBBER BANDS TO HOLD TOOL TOGETHER.

did the job
I used the crimper to plumb a new studio. Once I got the hang of it and added the rubber bands to keep it from falling off the pipe between compressions, it worked efficiently. It does require a lot of force on the vis-grips, so you want to make sure you use the 10" set advised. It held up and shows no sign of breaking, so the tool seems plenty sturdy for many more jobs, and the price was so much better than the other options I think this is a smart choice for the cost-conscious DIYer.

I would not likely buy this product again.
The crimper was to be used for DIY residential plumbing amongst family members.
With stronger than average hands and a 12" pair of channel locks, it couldn't crimp the ring to satisfy the gauge. It took mechanical advantage of a rigged up vice like device made up of wood working pipe clamps
applied to the channel locks to bring it home. It was difficult to keep the ring where it belongs, hold, and then operate two tools with just two hands.
Solving a lack of space is supposed to be the purpose of the tool.

Works great
Finally a slightly cheaper option for pex! Not the best, but it works well! Just wish it did not fall apart.. a screw to hold it together would be better..
Fast shipping great service!!

Perfect Crimper for lower volume jobs
Had to move some baseboard in an older house, piping was a combination of Pex and copper. Tool worked great but could see how it would slow one down on a large Pex project. The Pex work was in a crawl space, tool was small enough for access, crimping in the space was a challenge wound up using a c-clamp to get the pressure needed to crimp. Everything worked out perfectlyl.

Home Owner Approved
I recently bought this PEX Pocket crimper as I needed to redo some plumbing that was rotting out. This thing was inexpensive and worked great for the 10 or so crimps I needed to make. I used this in conjunction with a medium size pair of vise grips. It seems like it could do 1000s more at least. I don't think a pro would use this as it's not very quick but for the average DIY homeowner it was great. Ti comes with a go-no go gauge which was very helpful to determine whether the ring was crimped enough.

functional, accurate but crude casting
Its one of those things that ain't good looking but gets the job done just like its designed to. The part that need to be precise it very well machined. Than again there are not a lot of good looking things in plumbing including the plumbers.

Pocket Crimpers
In tight places like between studs in walls floor joices. This work great. In picture when ordered it looked plastic but they are heavy metal.
