Actually, I have never heard an alarm in the many years that I have had it. I have it plugged in at the opposite side of the house away from the tanks (in the dining room). The light is green until it gets below about an 1/8 of a tank, then it turns red. The gauge is amazingly accurate. I have not had to replace the batteries (knock on wood) since I purchased it. I have also never run out of fuel oil since I bought the ROCKET! I am disabled and in the snow belt of Ohio. I never have to go out and try to get the snow off the tanks to see the easily breakable plastic fuel gauge that is on the standard tanks (which will allow water into the tanks if broken). I have twin 275 gallon tanks and this Rocket has been one of the best items I have ever purchased. Both tanks are horizontal and linked together. One Rocket is all that is needed. No regrets. It is worth much more to me. I don't have to worry about running out of fuel oil. I do not get paid for my opinion. Actually, I have no idea why I get emails about the Rocket. It is one less thing in my life to worry about. It's not just for disabled people. It just makes part of life easier for anyone. Best Wishes, Cheryl
Yes it can be used this way and it should not interfere with the tank gauge.
Yes, The product comes with software which can be set up to accurately measure a horizontal oil tank.
I can't tell you what the pressure rating is on the Rocket Monitor, but I have never had a problem with it when the tanks are being filled. My problem has always been with the cheap plastic gauges that are standard on the tanks. I live in the snow belt and the weight of the snow on the tanks tend to break them over time allowing water into the tanks. The Rocket is much more durable and screws in tightly and easily. In fact, I have used the Rocket for a few winters and have not had any problems with it. It was one of the best investments I have made. I no longer have to trudge through the snow to try to read the gauge. I have the monitor plugged in on the opposite side of the house. It is very accurate and I have only had to reset it once. Just unplug it and plug it back in. I only wish I had found this product sooner. I have duel tanks and one Rocket monitors both tanks. I highly recommend it and doubt that you would regret the purchase. Best Wishes, Cheryl
It is possible, however it has not been tested by the manufacturer.
