Description

Overview

The OEM Rocket 7000 system is an electronic gauge that accurately and reliably measures the fuel level in your oil tank and transmits that information to a wireless receiver located in a convenient place in your home!

Features
  • Don't Run Out Again! Can prevent running out of oil during periods of heavy or unusual usage pattern, even if you have automatic delivery!
  • Eliminates the need to go down into the basement or outside to determine oil level. Simply monitor the Receiver LCD from within the comfort of your home!
  • Installs in less than 10 minutes!
  • More accurate and reliable than a mechanical float gauge
  • Suitable for both inside or outside tanks
  • Replaceable Lithium cell Transmitter battery lasts over 10 years.
  • Multiple receivers can be set up to receive from one transmitter
  • The omni-directional Transmitter allows the receiver(s) to be located anywhere within 150 ft of the transmitter.
  • Simple DIP switch settings allow one product to work on tanks up to 10 ft (3m) in height.
  • Multiple Transmitter/Receiver pairs can be colocated without interfering.
  • Automatic recovery following power outage - no need to re-synchronize receiver to transmitter.
Operation
  • The Transmitter is mounted in an available opening in the tank and uses ultrasonic technology to measure the fuel level.
  • The Receiver plugs directly into a 110v outlet located in a convenient place in your home - usually the kitchen.
  • The LCD display on the Receiver displays the oil level as "bars", where each bar represents approximately 10% of the tank's capacity.
  • When the level goes below 20%, the fuel oil Nozzle "icon" appears in the LCD display, indicating that it is time to call for fuel delivery. Note: If you have an "automatic delivery" contract with your oil dealer, you should wait until the level drops to about 10% before alerting the dealer to your oil level status.
  • When the oil level drops below 10% of the tank's capacity, the red LED will begin flashing continuously and a audible signal will sound once every hour. Call your oil company immediately to schedule a delivery. These warning signals will continue until the first measurement is made following an oil delivery (this could take up to one hour after the delivery).

Excellent product to monitor fuel oil

I installed this about 2 months ago on the opposite side of the glass gauge where there was another plug. I sprayed the plug with PB Buster and used a small pipe wrench with a steel pipe for added leverage. The directions for set up were straight forward and I installed the rocket with no problem. I used some Teflon tape around the threads of the included plug. My 275 gal. tank is located on its side (30 " high) in a crawlspace. I set the DIP switch to 5 and 7 and made comparisons of its accuracy with the glass gauge on the tank. I found it to be very accurate and so I'm relieved I don't have to crawl into the crawlspace to read the gauge again. Now I can get my best price on fuel oil and calculate when to order by relying on this wireless monitor. My house was built in 1961 and the tank was placed in the crawlspace and the floor joists built above it. Of course, I would not have built it this way and instead created an enclosed and insulated shed next to the house for the tank. Nonetheless the wireless monitor is certainly a labor saving device for this situation. If my tank springs a leak (its 54 years old) then I will build a shed for the next tank.

remote gauge

the gauge will work unless you have the tank in an area with concrete wall and floor and ceiling and it worked going into that room WITH THE DOOR OPEN until I got about 10 feet inside then did not have any signal and that was with the door open to the area underneath where the remote was plugged into . So if you have the monitor plugged into the wall and tank is surrounded with concrete walls etc. it will not work. I would think the same would apply if you had the monitor maybe in the basement and tank outside but do not know for sure.

This product is highly recommended

I found Supply House to have excellent delivery service; I got it the next day! The Rocket works awesome and solved a problem of no space to install a visual system as my oil tank is in accessible under our home in a tight crawl space. once you set it up you can forget about it for 5 or 6 years until battery replacement time. this is the second one I bought and love the product. Supply House had the best price too, at the time I made my purchase. 5 stars all the way!

Great for landlords

I have a 3 family and installed these for my tenants. Keeps them out of the basement and no excuse for running low on oil. Plus they like the convenience. Pretty easy to set up and installation only takes a pipe wrenc and Phillips screw driver.

Awesome Product!

The was very easy to install. Screw the old gauge out, and screw this one in. After some minor adjustments with the dip switches to calibrate the tank size, it was ready to go.

Q: What does the alarm sound like on this? Also, how often does it make the alarm sound when oil is low? constantly? Or, does it maybe beep occasionally like a low battery on a smokes alarm? Lastly, can the alarm be disabled?

Actually, I have never heard an alarm in the many years that I have had it. I have it plugged in at the opposite side of the house away from the tanks (in the dining room). The light is green until it gets below about an 1/8 of a tank, then it turns red. The gauge is amazingly accurate. I have not had to replace the batteries (knock on wood) since I purchased it. I have also never run out of fuel oil since I bought the ROCKET! I am disabled and in the snow belt of Ohio. I never have to go out and try to get the snow off the tanks to see the easily breakable plastic fuel gauge that is on the standard tanks (which will allow water into the tanks if broken). I have twin 275 gallon tanks and this Rocket has been one of the best items I have ever purchased. Both tanks are horizontal and linked together. One Rocket is all that is needed. No regrets. It is worth much more to me. I don't have to worry about running out of fuel oil. I do not get paid for my opinion. Actually, I have no idea why I get emails about the Rocket. It is one less thing in my life to worry about. It's not just for disabled people. It just makes part of life easier for anyone. Best Wishes, Cheryl

Q: Can the Rocket be used in conjunction with the typical tank gage? In other words, can I use both. One to monitor at the tank, and one to monitor remotely. Or will the internal float of the typical tank gage interfere with the Rocket?

Yes it can be used this way and it should not interfere with the tank gauge.

Q: Do you know what the pressure rating is on this unit? When the oil company fills a tank, the pressure spikes just before shutoff... Any chance this will blow off or crack?

I can't tell you what the pressure rating is on the Rocket Monitor, but I have never had a problem with it when the tanks are being filled. My problem has always been with the cheap plastic gauges that are standard on the tanks. I live in the snow belt and the weight of the snow on the tanks tend to break them over time allowing water into the tanks. The Rocket is much more durable and screws in tightly and easily. In fact, I have used the Rocket for a few winters and have not had any problems with it. It was one of the best investments I have made. I no longer have to trudge through the snow to try to read the gauge. I have the monitor plugged in on the opposite side of the house. It is very accurate and I have only had to reset it once. Just unplug it and plug it back in. I only wish I had found this product sooner. I have duel tanks and one Rocket monitors both tanks. I highly recommend it and doubt that you would regret the purchase. Best Wishes, Cheryl
