Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffTerminating the venting through a sidewall is recommended for the direct-vent system. Running the exhaust vent and the intake pipe parallel is recommended. Terminating the exhaust and intake on the same wall/surface is recommended. Terminating in the same pressure zone allows for pressure balancing, which prevents nuisance shutdowns.

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffYour Takagai unit must vent into the correct diameter category 3 stainless steel venting. We recommend checking your existing venting to ensure compliance with the manufacturers specifications in the Takagi installation manual.
Q: I want to order a T-K4-IN NG water heater. I need to know all of the parts and item numbers to order to complete this installation. I will be installing this on outside wall that will be a total of 6" thickness including framing , siding and interior Sheetrock. Your help in this matter is appreciated

It will slide inside 3" PVC pipe
Can't give you an exact dimension, (it is installed and glued up) but it is in the 3" range. I have it installed sliding into a schedule 40 PVC 3" pipe. Hope that helps. privacy policy (NEW!) here.
