i bought a burner assembly kit. 1/ tracking number said it was delivered but i didnt receive it. company immediately sent another one for free. no question. 2/ when i received the kit, installed and somehow i had gas leak. my mechanic said because of a dent on manifold tube. i filed a return/refund. company said i just keep it. ok cool.

Nine year-old A.O. Smith water heater stopped doing it's job a few days ago, and the issue was traced to a failed thermopile (not putting out enough milliamps) . Rather than muck with replacing just that, I went with a whole new burner assembly, the second one that's been replaced on this nearly ten year-old unit (last one was replaced seven years ago). After everything was switched out, we have wonderful hot water in the house again, and all is right with the world.
