AprilAire 4004 In-Line Strainer for Humidifier Models 220, 224, 350, 360, 400, 400A, 400M, 500 Series, 600 Series, and 700 Series
The Aprilaire 4004 In-Line Strainer is a tiny strainer that fits in the inlet fitting of the water solenoid valve which allows water to enter your humidifier. It is designed to keep debris from entering the solenoid valve and should be checked periodically. See the owner's manual section labeled "Periodic Preventative Maintenance" for more information.
Used in all models except for Commercial units and residential models 110, 112, 445, 445A, 448, and 330.

Plugged Strainer- April_Aire 600M Humidifier
I contacted SupplyHouse where I purchased my April-Aire 600M when my solenoid didn't seem to work. SupplyHouse game me the April-Aire Warrenty contact and they had me remove the in-line strainer to verify whether the solenoid was the issue or a plugged strainer. It was the later, I ordered the some strainers and I'm up and running. SupplyHouse is a fantastic resource. Helpful people, great prices and always really fast shipping!
