8145A Fresh Air Ventilator w/ Powered Damper & Filter

This does allow fresh air in, however if it's 90°or 20° then that's exactly what you're going to get. I installed this unit 10 ft from my air handler supposedly to temper the air entering my unit, this accomplishes nothing except it caused my power bill to skyrocket, your unit still has to work overtime to compensate for the hot of cold air being introduced. Therefore this unit is useless for economy purposes, but it does provide fresh air.

I'm a homeowner with a trane hvac system. We had our whole 1973 home insulated two years ago and I air sealed the attic. Bottom line I could tell we were a much more tightly sealed home because our second story bedrooms smelled like an attic and our mud room smelled like our garage more than ever. I cut a hole in the house and in the cold air return and plumbed this Ventillator in line. I wired the controller to the wiring in my furnace after making a detailed map of the existing wiring. Worked as easy as ever. Now we just have to keep an eye on the humidity outside to help manage the invoking airs effects on the interior humidity. But the whole home smells fresh and clean. No more attic and garage air infiltration.
