Siding Mounting Block

I bought these because the boxes behind the siding were just nailed to a stud and not sturdy enough for the 20" steel and glass fixtures I bought. I mounted these over the existing wall plates, creating a sandwich using GRK #10 3-1/8" screws to reach the OSB. There is a grommet wedged in the back of these that you should remove and use in the knock-out of choice. I reordered these for additional fixtures on the rear of the house, I followed installation with clear silicone caulk on top and sides.

used to mount ring floodlight cameras. Integrated pancake box means no extra parts to buy and only the hole for the ROMEX needs to be drilled. takes a few extra minutes to get the siding trimmed but the end job is so much better looking than what many hacks do...

Good quality. Wish the round recess for wiring was a little smaller in diameter as it is super close to the size of the light I am installing or I guess the light could be larger.

I used this mounting block to surface mount a barn light above our shed door. It worked perfect to extend out past the ribs of the siding and was very convenient with the electrical box molded in. When it arrived, it seemed more durable and heavy duty than I expected. It's also paintable so I spray painted it black to match the light.
