The Armstrong pump (S-25 BF) is exactly what I needed.

Good pump, reasonable price
The hot water recirculation pump at church gave up the ghost after 20 years. This pump fit right up to the flanges, connected easily and does the job.

I plan on buying additional pumps
The pump is quiet and Maintenance Free. However, the pump housing was bolted together to pump out the bottom instead of out the top. I didn't notice until it was already installed. We had to remove the pump, separate the pump from the motor, rotate the pump 180 degrees and reinstall. Other than that, I was pleased with the pump performance.

Verified Reply- Supply House StaffThe main difference of the two models is one is made of bronze (S-25 AB) and the other is made of cast iron (S-25 BF). Both pumps have the same specs as for flow rate, horse power, & head range but they are to be used in different type of systems. You would want to use a bronze pump in an open system (such as a domestic hot water system) and you can use a cast iron pump in a closed system (hydronic heating). In an opened system a cast iron pump would rust out quickly and you would have to replace it often.
