Hi Eric! The perforations are 1/8 inch in diameter.
The end caps are sold separately. EC001-LF and EC001-RT are the sku numbers for the left and right closed end caps EC002-LF and EC002-RT are the sku numbers for the left and right open end caps
You can use snips, a chop saw, or the manufacturer suggests shears as well depending on what you have available.
The manufacturer recommends a spray bomb application with a latex or enamel based paint in the color of your choice.
We only have a width of 3" at this time.
This manufacturer carries a line of "Tall" covers that are for use with high yield baseboards. We do not carry this line at this time.
I believe wall mounts should work fine since this item was never intended to be stood on. - Dave -
The old back plate makes for an easy installation. However, you threw it away? I think Supply House has some brackets you can buy, however, I use some 1x2 for a back support and that worked well too. Cheers, Mark
Hello Bratt, sorry, I'm not a home heating expert so I can't answer your question about safety..but I think using some kind of solid wall mount could be your solution. I have installed the new baseboard cover on top of old back plate. regards, BMO
If the original back plate has been removed, Baseboarders can be safely and properly mounted to the wall using Baseboarders wall brackets. The part number is WB001. Wall brackets are readily available from SupplyHouse.com. WB001 wall brackets will mount both Premium and Basic product lines. Use a minimum of two wall brackets per panel. Mount only at stud locations.
You’ll need to splice pieces together. Sent from Windows Mail
These covers are great. I just spliced two units together for the long ones I needed and they look fine. I hope this helps. Sent from my iPad
I spliced two units together for my wall. There is a slightly visible covered seam, but it is not that noticeable. You have to decide if the seam would bother you. If you're going to have furniture in front, then splice. If it is going to be a long wall with an uninstructed view, then just evaluate your comfort level. Sent from my iPhone
You would need a 6' & 7' piece and join them with a coupler. Very easy, I did it for my whole house. Sent from my iPhone.
they make different sizes so you have to piece together, you can also cut but you need a good set of tin snips, they don't cut easy but they do cut
I would order 2- 7 foot pieces and cut them with a hacksaw. The coupler for the 2 pieces will give you about a half inch to cover any paint that might chip. Dana R Berger
SINGLE PIECE WOOD LOOK THE BEST, BUT SHIPPING PIECES THAT LONG WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO KEEP STRAIGHT. I DON'T KNOW IF THERE ARE CONNECTORS OR NOT. THE HEATER COVERS FIT OVER THE BACKING PLATE THAT IS ATTACHED TO THE WALL. THE END COVERS ARE SOLID AND WOULD HAVE TO BE MODIFIED IF USED TO CONNECT 2 PIECES. THE COVERS ARE IN MY BATHROOMS AND HAVE WORKED OUT VERY WELL. HOPE THIS HELPS. Walt
Baseboarders covers can be attached to the backplates of existing baseboards. In new construction projects or installations in which backplate installation is not possible, wall brackets (part WB001) can be purchased separately.
You don't need any special attachments to mount it to the wall. Normal wood screws into studs will be fine. It is also able to slide in place over an existing baseboard (which is what I did) will no screws needed. The metal is stronger than I expected but I think a standard metal cutting circular blade would work best. I don't think tin snips will work.
No special clips come with it. It fits over the existing back (I was replacing a 30 year old cover). You might have to loosen the old cover ((if you have one) BTW the new cover looks great! and is a cinch to install!
It has been some time since I installed the baseboard covers but if memory serves me, the cover is secured by a portion of the cover sliding behind the existing baseboard and then further secured by the end caps. It was not a complicated installation. I am extremely pleased by the outcome. The price may seem a bit high for the covers but the alternative of removing the section of baseboard and replacing it would be far more work and likely require a plumber.
There are no clips needed, as the product hangs on to the existing support of the old baseboard heating supply. We had it custom cut by the pex company, but the end caps cover the cut area. We really LOVE this product it never rusts, and easy to keep clean...worth every penny!
Baseboarders replacement covers always have the same height regardless of the length. If the height of the current covers is less than 7-1/2", you would need to remove the backplates and install the Baseboarders covers with wall brackets (part WB001).
THE COVER MEASURES 7 INCHES. THE BACKING PLATE ON YOUR OLD COVER WILL PROBABLY BE 7.5 ABOVE THE FLOOR. THE END COVER PLATES WILL BE 7.5 IF THE TOP OF YOUR PRESENT IS LESS, THEN YOU MAY HAVE TO RAISE IT OR ORDER CUSTOM END CAPS Walt
