Retro fit into old B/M Model 41 type K
I have 10 of these units in my house that were made in approx. 1972 and the fans on some have worn out. Some of the units are hard to get to without ripping out walls and kitchen counters so it is not too easy to get a new unit in place. I tried to get fan replacements from B/M two years ago and they said they had nothing as the old motor/fan contractor they used went out of business (Tron). So now they have this new unit #K-42. This new unit has a fan/motor replacement available and I thought I would try this. This assembly fits into the old unit perfectly. These new K-42 fan/motor replacements have wiring for a 3 position switch which does not exist on the old units. So you have 2 hot leads--you only need one of them. The red lead makes the fan run slow, the black lead makes the fan run fast-so take your pick and tape the unused one back out of the way. Connect the grounds and you are all set.

Major vibration.
I'm afraid I'm quite dissapointed in the blowers. One of them I had to replace an old blower fan with the new motor for it was so off center it made a terrible vibration in the whole house when on. Another one is doing the same thing but I have not had a chance to replace it yet. Not sure what to do now......

Fits K41 with modifications
There are no K41 replacement fan assy's so I ordered this K42. The wires are different and the fan shroud is more open than the K41. The metal electric box on the K41 is small and doesn't fit completely over the larger k42 motor connectors. Some aluminum tape fixed that.
I tried the k42 shroud but it was noisier than the noisy K41 so I took it all apart and used the K41 shroud with new fan and rubber bushing. Now it's nice and quiet again.
Turns out that the rubber bearing holder in the old one had dried and split causing the k41 to vibrate. All it really needed was a rubber bushing that no one makes available. You buy the whole assenbly.

Needed a replacement for the unit my house that was from the 80's. Easy installation and great fit. I don't know what some of these other review are talking about with noise. This thing is whisper quiet. Will definitely buy again if it ever needs replacing.

Verified Reply- SupplyHouse StaffUnfortunately no, this replacement motor fan assembly would not work in the K41 unit. The entire kickspace heater would have to be replaced with the K42 unit, as parts are no longer offered on the K41.

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThis replacement motor will work. The K84 unit is the same whether it's installed in the wall or in the floor. Its installation orientation is the only difference.

Q: Hello, I presently have a Twin Flo 2 (model K-84) kickspace heater, I want to replace the fan blower motor with the Twin flo 3 replaceement blower (model K-84). My question is would the fan fit in the old housing or do I have to purchase the entire fan?

Q: My unit is a K41A. The fan is very loud. I think the bearings are bad. I did clean the fan with no differance to its operational sound. Is the K42 the right replacement for the fan and motor.
