Check psi first

Claimed to be factory set at 12 psi but was set way higher. Make sure to double-check before turning on your boiler. It was apparently preset to 20 and blew my boiler when it got hot. Works fine but just turn back the pressure first on the screw.

Another satisfied DIY purchase from Supply house :)

Replaced an existing valve that was probably 40+ years old, the relief valve occasionally leaked.

Good product but may not be set to 12 PSI

First one leaked, second one was OK but set for 20 PSI, not a problem, just reset

Q: How do i reset the pressure on this? I replaced the existing one because the relief valve was occasionally dripping and now the new one is doing the same thing. I am assuming the pressure might be set to high. Thanks.

Hi Bes. According to the installation instructions provided by Bell & Gossett: 1. Allow water in heating system to cool below 100F. 2. Adjust the reducing valve pressure setting by loosening the jam nut on top of the reducing valve and turning the slotted adjusting screw. Turn the screw clockwise to increase the set pressure, or counter-clockwise to lower the set pressure. Adjust slowly until the boiler pressure gauge indicates the desired pressure. NOTE: Do not adjust the pressure to less than 10 psi. 3. Hold the adjusting screw stationary with a screwdriver and tighten the jam nut. 4. Return the system to normal operation.

we have no way of diagnosing a leak, there are some replacement parts, but i wouldnt know which ones would fix your leak.
