Blue Monster BIG compression seal tape is a full 2" wide to seal links on large diameter piping. Blue Monster Compression Seal Tape stops problem leaks while under pressure - without turning off the water source! Developed for professional plumbing contractors, Blue Monster Compression Seal Tape is ideal for crisis and long-term applications.
Blue Monster Compression Seal Tape features self-fusing layers that form a waterproof compression seal. Seal leaks up to 150 PSI on almost any material, from galvanized and cast iron to copper and all types of plastics and rubber.
Blue Monster Compression Seal Tape contains no adhesive. This tape seals by compression, so pulling the tape as tight as possible forms a chemical reaction that fuses the layers of tape into a mass of silicone. Once fused, the silicone mass forms a heavy-duty bond on the leak or connection that serves as an emergency or long-term repair.

Worked Great for Sewer Repair
I had a 3" ABS sewer pipe with a 1" hole drilled in it by a careless contractor. The hole was in the crawl space right where several fittings meet and right where the pipe goes through a wall. Cutting out the pipe would have meant buying $50 in fittings and opening drywall, so I used this wrap over the hole. It worked perfectly and now there is no leak.

Not impressed. Way expensive to use
We used this tape to repair oil leaks on 2" black pipe and the oil does leak through on some of the joints. We used 5 wraps of the 2" Monster compression tape and then covered it with white electrical tape for aesthetics.

I would not buy this again for 6 inch water main
I would not buy this again for 6 inch class 160 water main. We had a leak on the bell of the pipe and assumed that 2 inch wide Compression Seal Tape would work. It stopped the leak for a moment, then it started dripping again. With that said, it was on the bell of the pipe. It may have worked if the leak was on a different section of pipe.
