better quality than required for purpose

Just needed a valve for a diverter on a gas-powered water pump to direct full flow back into pond to make for easier engine starting. (I slowly close the valve after pump is running to change water flow to irrigation system). The quality was much better than needed, but the price was right. Can't think of anything negative about it.

Need to stock better valves

Installed two new valves that I ordered installed them turn on water both valves leaking from packing nut badly. I tightened them all the way down couldn't stop the leak. Had to replace both valves now it looks horrible with couplings on the lines sorry I'm i am a protectionist. Never mind had wasted my time.

Hard to find--SupplyHouse came through

We really wanted high quality ball valves for an outdoor in-ground installation shut-off valve because, believe me, we did not want to dig down there ever again. These were great.

Priced right, works well

I needed to replace one that had frozen and developed a leak after the major ice storm in January. This works well.

3/4" Bluefin ball valve casing leaks

Installed a couple of these on a water heater. Did not leak in off position. Started leaking at housing joint as soon as I opened the valves. Tried to tighten housing but would not budge. Luckily I went with threaded valves to avoid valve damage when sweating copper. That will make it easier to replace these with a better quality valve. I'm going to replace both hot and cold at the same time since I have to drain the system anyway.

Hit or miss with these

After installing, uninstalling and reinstalling one of these ball valve (using PTFE tape AND pipe dope), it continued to leak, though not at the threads. Turns out it was leaking at the seam/split line. Another ball valve in a different location did not close fully and sprayed water when trying to isolate the unit. However, the other ball valves seem to be operating properly and are not leaking. The lower price may not always be worth it if put in a location where changing a defective valve causes a great deal of trouble.

Yes, it can be used with hot or cold potable water. A 1" male NPT CPVC fitting can be used with it. Not all areas of the US allow CPVC for supply plumbing inside a residence. Check with local authorities.

Simple answer, yes. May not stay pretty as plastic in ths long term. Sent from my Galaxy S®III

Should work great for a swimming pool. About the only advantage of gate valves over ball valves is finer control of flow, but for a pool, the control with a ball valve should be more than enough. Should probably use use PVC unions on either side of the valve to ease installation and future service. You'll need a short schedule 80 nipple too. Saw it in half and cement each piece into one of the unions, then you'll have male/female unions; male ends go into the valve. Schedule 40 male adapters can be used in some cases if the geometry allows, but if the valve needs service or replacement, you'll have to saw the pipes. Better to use unions at the outset. Be warned than the threads on unions are not standardized, and different brands may have different threads. All unions should be the same brand and model, and buy a couple of spares. You can buy union ball valves too. They're more compact, but pricey.

In general this type (brass ball) valve can be used. Most manufacturers will rate their product as WOG (water / oil / gas). 3/4: Pressure rating is 'generally' 600 - 750 psi, depending on style and material. Some providers list as having a blow-out proof stem. (w/ often dual Viton seals). IF using in and around other systems (water or oil) TAG or (preferably) PAINT (or rubber dip) the handle BLUE. Do NOT use Teflon tape. USE Teflon (or other )LIQUID - type pipe sealant. IF you gotta get something up and running (short term) this would be suitable for a connection for residential use. Check your building codes and/or local ordinances to be sure.

Yes, The letters WOG printed on the handle stands for Water,Oil,Gas so your good. Its also rated for 175 PSI if you were going to use it for compressed air.
