I saved Supply House for the next time I need parts
Thank you for sourcing these parts for the Bosch Undersink water heater. You saved me $$$ not having to buy a new one. Please continue to stock these items (heater, anode, gasket kit). I discover my anode was gone and it resulted in a burned out heater wire. Anodes need checking every year or so. Mine was original 8 years ago.

Troubleshooting this part car be tricky.
The accompanying photos will help you understand how I came to replace this part. Notice the two blackened terminal connectors. When I consulted the tech at Bosch he recommended I replace the thermostat, which I did. However, soon after doing this, the right terminal showed that it had overheated. I either had a bad (new) thermostat, or it was the heating element. I chose to replace the heating element, along with a new anode and gasket.
(By the way, I have had this tank for three years and check the anode every six months. It gets replaced yearly, on average. I had replaced the anode six months prior to the trouble and found it had deteriorated about 60%.) After the replacements, the clear plastic terminal insulator (saved from the old thermostat) showed no discoloration. Water heater works fine now. Note: if you buy a new thermostat, save the white temperature control lever from your old one! It's a separate part. Consider saving the clear insulators too. If you're wondering about the extra ground wire leading out of the heater, it is attached to a copper pipe (there's a clamp you can get where you buy plumbing parts). It was recommended by Bosch techs because I was experiencing rapid deterioration of the anode. A problem of electrolysis. Solved the problem. Finally, if you have a volt meter and know how to use it you could probably have diagnosed this issue of the thermostat vs. heater element.
