I had trouble getting the threads to seal. Note that the female adapter was also by Boshart. On third attempt I used heavy teflon tape (formulated for stainless steel) and lots of pipe dope. Wrapped threads from top to bottom (leaving 1 to 2 threads exposed) back to top. As insurance I added rubber washer in female mating fitting so male fitting would bottom out on washer. Made sure I didn't over-tighten threads. Seems to be holding. I have much fewer problems sealing brass fittings. Luckily I could twist this fitting with 1" Uponor pex pipe attached quite a bit without leaks at that connection. I found the smaller stainless steel fittings to be less problematic.
