Note: Bradford White uses two part numbers to fill orders for this sku. The alternative sku is (415-49560-08). Both products are identical with no differences other than the part number.
Replaced the magnesium anode in my water heater last year due to sulphur odor. It reduced the odor but there was still some noticed. Bradford White presented a bulletin stating magnesium can produce an odor and to try their aluminum rod as well as treat the system with chlorine. Voila! Odor gone in one day!

Worked but with Problems
Let me first say shipping was great and item arrived in good condition.
Installation was a bit of a problem in that the nipple was shorter than the one I removed. When the new rod was dropped into place the only part of the nipple showing above the tank was the threads. The made tightening difficult but I was able to wrap the threads. I'm surprised the nipple for a factory replacement was shorter.
Further this was purchased to fix a rotten egg smell. The replacement rod only reduced the smell by about 50% which in my case was a significant improvement.
Would not recommend due to short nipple making installation difficult.

Customer service was great
The product works fine but it was the customer service that was exceptional. They realized that the product wasn't going to arrive until 1 day later than they had estimated and because of this they automatically gave me a discount. I really appreciate that.

Aluminum anode to remove stinky hot water
Supply house is great - as usual. The product arrived quickly, fit perfectly, and did the job! We had a stench in the hot water tank if it was left unused for a few day. We ditched the original magnesium anode and replaced it with the aluminum. Worked great!

The aluminum is typically used for installs with smelly water. The aluminum anode lasts longer than the magnesium anode typically as well.

Q: Is this a pure aluminum or rather an aluminum/zinc anode? I have a softener and a pure aluminum anode is not recommended.
