It is nice to be able to repair something without a major rebuild. This minor repair inside of the valve is much less invasive than opening up a wall to replace the whole valve, saving a lot of grief and expense to customer. Makes my day way better Too.

A quick fix for old hardened packing on Brasscraft multi-turn straight or angle stop. They also fit my Jameco stops. Stops leaks at the packing nut when tightening no longer works. These washers are hard to find at hardware stores and are easy to replace. It's good to have this option if you don't want to replace the entire valve. Change the seat washer (R15-5) while you have it apart, the seat washer ("bibb washer") will be deteriorated or missing.
