It replaced our 37 year old fan. The design was changed and wires were too short. Had to cut hole in other side and cover the hole that was left. This did not make me a happy camper! It is noisy now but could be something else. will check further when weather warms up. I had a bird get in and build a nest but was sure I had got it all vacuumed out. It was quiet when plugged in before installing it and connecting to vent.
