You don't. You use the existing fan housing. Take out the old motor and connect the fantech system. Sent from my iPhone
This kit doesn't have a replacement ceiling fan or grille. I simply de-energized my existing fan and utilized it for an exhaust grille. Then I extended the supplied ducting to the new fan and then extended more ducting to an exterior wall outlet. Sent from my iPhone
Mine did not have a backdraft damper. You'd have to rely on the wall cap (dryer vent for me) or if your existing fan has a backdraft damper built in. I'm just relying on the dryer vent flapper for my damper.
I don't think that the retro fit unit has a back draft damper. Sent from my iPhone
I do not believe it comes with a back-draft damper. I am not 100% sure if a back draft damper is included or not. It was sometime ago that I installed this product and have forgotten exactly. I used it in a bathroom which already had a fan and damper system in place. I simply removed the old fan from the housing and mounted the Fantech unit in the attic. The old housing had a damper. I have used many of the various Fantech fans and they are of excellent quality. Pex supply has the best price around.
Yes, both the BFRK100 and PB110 contain the FG4 fan.
The included 4" insulated flex duct measures 8 feet long.
