Simple, Sound, and handsome..
My second time around trying to finish up an external exhaust project for a smoking room. This worked perfectly for me. I had it on before my installer even came by to finish the trim for me. Only problem I found, and I think it's due to the high velocity of the centrifugal fan I am using, when its on high and the grill is adjusted very close inward it whistles. On this model a plate rotates inward and outward to maximize or minimize the opening and on high you can hear a whistling. It's quite O.K. with me, for all the rest of the time and with the fan on a lower setting, it performs great and the price for two pieces: the collar and grill, is a dream.

quality product
used to vent bathroom fan. quality product but needs a better mounting assembly for sheetrock installation between 2 by 10 studs in attic. be aware you may have to design your own mounting bracket.

We used this for our return air from an ERV. It is a nice subtle vent and looks good with the recessed lighting we used. Both are the same size so the ceiling is clean looking. Only thing I want to do is paint them to match the lighting.

Do people understand that these are adjustable dampers too?
Clean look, dead easy to install, and adjustable damping. I wonder if the folks specifying these take their damping function into account when ALSO requiring iris dampers in line in the ducts! It would also be great to have a locking nut in there to prevent tenants etc. from unbalancing the HVAC by fiddling with it ad-hoc...

Not using it.
I ordered this but then decided against it since the collar does not screw into the ceiling like its competitors. I would like to return it but the shipping cost is just as expensive as the product so basically a mistake.

Product worked for my application.
Color was off white enough to not match other "white" elements in the space but that is not a defect. We did not need or use the 4" collars that came with the diffusers so they were unnecessary added expense. Also, the collars banged on the diffusers so they were chipped in shipping.
They did meet our need for a finishing treatment that could be applied to a raw 4" duct terminated at the ceiling. They were quick and easy to install and I would use them again if faced with a similar need.
