Shaun, I am just a customer of PexSupply who gets quite a few questions about the replacement motor/fan you are inquiring about. This item did bolt right up to my Field Controls SWG II-4HD. In this kit you get the motor with attached mounting plate and squirrel cage type fan. The only issue I had during the installation was the motor wires were just a bit too short in length compared to my original motor. I reduced the length of the flex conduit between motor and control box to compensate for this issue, not a big deal. Make sure to clean out all the accumulation of rust scale in the blower housing while you are there. There is good information located here: http://www.fieldcontrols.com/instructionmanuals.php Repair Motor Kit information is here: http://www.fieldcontrols.com/pdfs/46252300.pdf Good Luck!
Hello, I am a PexSupply customer who bought the SWGII-4HDRMK kit about 3 years ago. My original motor/fan ran 10 heating seasons in a 110k BTU natural gas furnace exhaust before seizing up. No problems to date with the replacement.
We installed this I think 3 or 4 years ago and it is still going strong - don't know the estimated life, though. I think the one we replaced had a good 15 years on it.
This newer version with the bearings that you can oil will last quite a while if you keep the bearings oiled for example on my coal stove continuous running all winter they will last 7-10 years. However there was an earlier model with sealed bearings which I believe has been taken off the market because that model only lasted 1 year and bearings frooze up. Make sure the model you buy has oil ports for the bearings.
