    Pex supply to the rescue

I bought this item for my fujitsu mini split AC unit [...] Easy to work with and and pee insulated. Pex supply had the 35 foot roll on back order so they sent me a 50' roll for the same price. [...]

Poor excuse for a line set - DON'T BUY

I have been installing Refrigeration and A/C equipment for 40 years. I normally make my line sets from 164' rolls of pre-insulated tubing. I was out of 5/8" and needed a 50' set. I thought I would try one from Supply House because they generally sell quality items. In this case it was a big mistake. The line set is absolute junk. I started to use it and ended up putting the job on hold until I can get my usual material. I can live with cutting off the terrible flares to do them correctly, but not with the cheap junk insulation. Try pulling it through a hole and it tears all up. Look at it crossways and it tears. Don't buy this stuff. I am stuck with 2 coils (3/8 and 5/8) that I will try to use for water line someplace.

    Great lineset!

Can't complain at all about this. All 4 flares were perfect( I inspected them really well as others had said theirs were bad) nuts were not cracked- been using set for a few months now with no problem- and NOBODY beats Supply House pricing!!!!

    line sets are junk...

Bought 275' of these line sets, used factory flares, almost every one leaked, re flared a couple with high quality tool for mini splits/410a, tested again still leaked, cut all of them out and brazed in couplings...no leaks..This tubing is not annealed correctly, it is too hard, can't get good flares. Out of curiosity put a piece of 5/8 in a compression ball valve tightened in vise with 10" wrench, pressurized with water, leaked like crazy.took apart ,furrule came off by hand.....Proves tubing is not annealed correctly...

    Flares are bad.

Flares are irregular, rough and poorly formed. These will not seal well on the higher pressures of a mini split. I'm not sure why Supply House continues to ship these. Supply House is excellent in pricing, fast shipping, packing and processing returns. In order for a do it yourselfer to use these you would need to cut off the flares and use a specialized mini split flaring tool to make new flares. The flare tool is around $120 dollars.

Flare is not good. I had to cut it off and make my own. The neck was cracked in multiple places. i notice this after nitrogen test at 200psi. copper is ok. soft as it should. Do your own flare!

Q: Caqn these linesets be connected to make a longer run? If so do you sell the couplings? Can the lines be cut and flared? and do you sell just the insulation for the lines?

The line sets can be connected to make a longer run. We do not carry the couplings to connect line sets together. The line sets already come insulated and with flared ends. We do sell pipe insulation and it can be found here: http://www.pexsupply.com/Pipe-Insulation-12071000

These lines are made to be cut and flared...all installers carry the tools to do so. A lot of runs actually need to be shortened a bit...runs over around 75 feet arent recommended.
