The GDS8 Downflow gas furnaces features a patented aluminized steel tubular heat exchanger and high-efficiency hot surface ignition system. These furnaces are run-tested for heating or combination heating/cooling applications. With a heavy-gauge, reinforced, wrap-around insulated steel cabinet and durable baked enamel finish, these units can be installed in a utility room, closet, alcove, basement or attic. (Not intended for use in mobile homes)

Q: is there an air filter in the GDS80904BXC furnace unit? We had a new unit installed by United Air Temp in 2009 and they were supposed to come back to install an air filter but never did. The UAT person who came out recently to service the unit says there's no air filter and no place to put an air filter. Is that possible? I'm concerned about the air my tenants (my sister and her family) have been breathing for 6 years if there's no filter
