Description

Fits 1/2" nominal pipe/tube (5/8" actual O.D.) insulated with 1" wall thickness. This steel strut-mount coupling is sized to the pipe's true outside diameter - not its nominal trade size - for a snug, gap-free fit over the insulation. Outside Diameter (O.D.) vs. Nominal Size: O.D. is the exact physical measurement across the pipe or tube's exterior - the sizing method used for HVAC, refrigeration (ACR), and copper tubing (e.g., 5/8" O.D. tubing measures exactly 0.625" across). Nominal size, by contrast, is a trade designation for iron, steel, or CTS copper pipe that approximates the inside diameter rather than the true outer edge - for standard CTS copper pipe, actual O.D. is always 1/8" larger than the nominal size (e.g., 1/2" Nominal = 5/8" O.D.).

good clamps for insulation
clamps work good to insulate piping,the only down side is that you cannot install after pipe is together, you have to slide on while assembling,plastic donnut will be loose but will tighten down with clamps to stop pipe from moving, you may need to unstall a few extra on a long vertical run to keep pipe from sliding
