120 Vac, 60 Hz Gas Ignition Transformer

This is the direct replacement for an oem transformer. Whomever thought the stupid spike in the recessed hole would stand up to machine vibrations has been at a desk too long.

I used this part to replace the obsolete version. worked perfectly.

The product worked very well. A few modifications with mounting screws. No big deal.

This is a replacement for an earlier version of a gas ignition transformer and the previous one used a spark plug wire just as you would get from any automotive shop. Well this doesn't have have that type of connector on it, just a small little spike recessed in hole at the top and had no explanation of what type of ignition to use, it was very confusing at first. After looking online at several pictures I found one installed that appeared to also be using a spark plug type of wire but with the end that goes to the transformer cut off and stuck on the spike. At first this worked intermittently and we kept having and ignition failure about every 3rd or 4th light off attempt. I read in a review like these that someone else had that problem and suggested cutting as much of the ignition wire off as possible. I cut about 10 inches off and it has worked great ever since. Took away a star for poor directions.
