Very easy and simple with plastic tubing, if copper line is cut and prepared properly should work with it too.it is standard quick connect like on your fridge etc.
Plastic tubing.
It comes with a self tapping valve that clamps to your water line. From the valve a 1/4 inch plastic line runs to the unit. You could put in your own valve but you'll still need the 1/4 inch line to run into the unit. Sent from my iPhone
It may connect to a copper line if the copper is perfectly round and smooth with the same O.D. as the the plastic line, but I would not trust it. I would make the conversion to plastic with a compression fitting conversion at both ends. When done, support the filter with a permanent mount as the plastic lines become brittle with time and tend to leak if left "stressed". When you change the filter, you will need to trim the plastic ends and re-insert.
You can buy it online at PexSupply.com or through a local Honeywell installer or distributor.
What kind of in-filter? For the TrueSteam or Frige? If it's for the TrueSteam, you have found it.
The filter is probably fine. It is normal for minerals and sediment to gather in the tanks of these humidifiers. Just make sure to clean the tank as directed.
The filter contains clear glass balls and filter paper. If the paper ripped the glass balls could enter the tank; however, the more common sandy material in the bottom of the TrueSteam tank is from desolved minerals in the water. It is why the TrueSteam tank has a screen in the bottom and should be cleaned annually as described in the installation guide that cam with the TrueSteam unit. How much sediment ends up in a given TrueSteam depends on the water supply which vary significantly by area.
This filter has a service life of 6-12 months and yes, you should be able to remove the existing filter by twisting it off.
It's like a Chinese finger trap puzzle. Push the water tube in to the filter to release it.
Yes it is.
The filter is clearly described as a polyphosphate filter with no mention of GAC. There is no need for GAC for a humidifier where the water is not used for drinking. GAC removes certain organics, which may produce taste, odor or toxic effects. GAC does not remove minerals appreciably. I would question the representative as to why he thinks there is GAC in a filter marketed for humidifiers.
No, the tubing and connectors are not included with this filter.
