Description

Honeywell Whole-House Dehumidifiers are designed to help maintain proper humidity levels in the home. Lower humidity levels feel more comfortable, and helps safeguard against problems from excess moisture in the home such as mold, mildew, warped wood, peeling of paint, or musty odors. Honeywell Whole Home Dehumidification Systems are Energy Star rated providing efficient and economical operation.

Dehumidification
The Honeywell DR120A3000 dehumidifier utilizes refrigeration and internal air circulation to cool the incoming air stream below its dew point. Water condenses and drains off the coil, sending drier air back into the house
  • Can remove up to 120 pints/day of moisture.
  • Energy Star rated
  • Multitude of external controller options
  • Side ducted exhaust
  • Reduced noise during operation
  • MERV 11 air filtration
Ventilation
The Honeywell DR120A3000 has a separate control for ventilation, so the powerful onboard blower can be used to efficiently bring fresh air into the house even when dehumidification is not needed. The DR120A3000 has a 6” supply side damper that can be used to duct in air from the outside, or closed if not needed.

Simplified Wiring
The Honeywell DR120A3000 dehumidifiers can be controlled by a variety of 24-volt remote wired and wireless controls.

The DR120A3000 allows the use of a 24V normally closed float switch or water sensor to simplify installation in a drain pan. This will allow the external float switch to kill power to the compressor in the event of water blockage.

DR120 Dehumidifier works well

Installed this product along with a new Prestige IAQ Thermostat system over the weekend by myself; fairly straight forward to install and configure. Our house is very energy efficient and has a tight building envelope so we unfortunately had very high indoor humidity prior to installing this unit [67-70%] relative humidity. After installing this unit were able to maintain a nice 45% relative humidity level. It took a good 4-5 days for the house to 'dry' out where the product was working 100% duty cycle, but now it runs at about 10-15% duty cycle to maintain the humidity level. So far it looks like it will add $15-20/month or so to the electric bill as the unit requires the HVAC central fan to run to be effective [3400 sqft house], which takes about a total of 1500w [HVAC Fan + this DR120 unit]. Also the unit is very quite in operation, which is good when it runs a lot!. If you've fixed all your other air issues, then this is a great product for the high humidity south - highly recommended. Would give 5 stars if the liters-removed/KWh was better.

DR120 worked well until>>>

I installed the unit myself August 2014. It worked very well. Pulled lots of water and quite satisfied until the sealed system failed August 2015. I called Honeywell for warranty service. The service representatives are all scripted and essentially useless. Likewise the service technician was clueless when troubleshooting the unit with my local HVAC technician (required before Honeywell will honor their warranty). I had to pay for the local HVAC service. Honeywell then agreed the unit should be returned (after many phone calls). You could not tell from my experience that this company made components for the space program. SupplyHouse was the complete opposite. They were friendly and helpful and even agreed to refund my purchase if that was my choice. I chose a new unit hoping that I just randomly got a bad one. The exchange was completed in several days. If this one fails I will add a second review. I have an inadequate data set to recommend or not recommend but there is no middle choice. I can recommend SupplyHouse for their excellent response to my problem.

This is garbage

I replaced a unit that burned out in about a year. And guess what? The warranty replacement burned out... -drumroll- IN LESS THAN A YEAR. DO NOT BUY

I have a Tru Dry

I have a Try Dry, it works good, but after about two years it stopped and lost refrigerant. I topped it up and it is fine. On the fence, building a new home and need a bigger unit and want a heavy duty unit and have it hang. Need 100- 1200 PPD

On my 3rd unit in 3 years

I've had 2 units and both failed within 12 months. I'm now on my 3rd unit and have to pay north of 2k in labor to get them replaced. Major regrets not going with Aprilaire.

Works great for about 2 months

This product does its job to lower humidity but then hits a wall where it will not turn off, even when all inputs are removed. Honeywell says it has to be returned at that point as there is no service a technician can perform to fix the issue. I have now had two separate units fail in the same way following roughly 2 months usage. On the plus side supplyhouse was great about handling the returns and getting a replacement unit shipped out.

Recommend this Unit highly

Excellent result so far. Supply side runs to an electric damper valve reset to "normally closed" then Into the hvac system main supply duct. Damper opens when the dehumidifier is on. Dehumidifier is wired off honeywell smart tstat U1/U1. Damper wired at C and Dehu terminal. Damper automatically prevents backdraft through wet dehu when heat runs. Dehumidifier is used only in winter and services 3500 sf finished basement, maintaining a setpoint of 45 percent RH at approx 52 percent duty cycle at 72 F. Before installation, space was 72F and 65 percent RH. Tstat set to run main system fan on low simultaneously. On startup, dehumidifier capacity was measured as 95 pints at 72F and 100 percent duty. Installation includes an independent return duct but uses house supply duct and registers. No complaints...doing the job well Trucking company had some issues but SupplyHouse customer service response was first class!
