Hi Ron! They are nominally sized to fit specific model air cleaners, but the actual size is 19-15/16" x 24-7/8" x 4-3/8"
FC100A1011 is a standard filter, not a popup.
We use stock photos, the description should be correct.
Just received a box of 5. All MERV 11.
This filter is 20" x 25" x 4.5". Higher value MERV rating equates to finer filtration, meaning fewer dust particles and other airborne contaminants can pass through the filter. So the MERV rating really depends on how finely the air needs to be filtered.
24 ¾” x 20” x 4 3/8”
It said Merc-11 on the filter.
Those housings came in different sizes, if your is a 20X25 it will work. I would suggest changing the prefilters as well. depending on size they use 2 prefilters side by side for the larger size housings.
Yes, this filter measures approximately 4"

The higher MERV the smaller particles it will catch. However, going to higher MERV number, will get you more interfere with air flow. It will also lead to more frequent media replacement. Depending on the system capacity and filter dimensions going to higher MERV will low system capacity and may affect overall efficiency. Loosing capacity may lead to insufficient cooling/heating. Think of it like installing cardboard versus mesh. On a great majority of residential systems I would not go above MERV 11. So, it all depends and always compromise.
The higher the number (MERV rating) the smaller the particles the filter will stop. Sent from my iPhone
Higher MERV means better filter (denser media traps smaller particles)
Higher is better.
