Good for new or old work
Since most programmable thermostats are powered by 24 volts, and many electric heaters (EBB or wall heaters) are 240 volts, such a relay allows the user to combine the two. Installer needs to be able to read schematics and determine which one is appropriate for the desired use, since there are several possible applications for this relay. I have bought two of these during the past 10 years, and they've both been flawless.

I hope I don't have to replace for quite awhile
I purchased 2 of these electric heat relays approximately 5 years ago to replace the original relays that lasted nearly 40 years, now 1 of the 2 relays has failed and isn't shutting off the power to the baseboard heating units.
I purchased 2 relays recently and used 1 to correct the problem, the 2nd one is a backup in case the other relay fails in the near future. I would like to think the relays should last considerably longer than the one that failed. Time will tell.
The positive out of this is Supply House is great to deal with and stocks a lot of items to get them to their customers very quickly.
