Easy to install, easy to use

I replaced my three non-programmable Honeywell thermostat with these in about 30 minutes, including programing. I've used other programmable thermostats and this may not have all the display options of some programmable thermostats, but this is the easiest to use of all I've tried and and it satisfies every need I have.

Not so much...

I have 4 of these connected to a Honeywell HZ432 True Zone which works well enough, and the Rheem HVAC units are fine. I have replaced every one of these thermostats at least once (and some twice) in the last nine years. The problem lies with the System Switch (Heat/Off/Cool switch). After a while, the switch just goes bad and does not turn the system on. Over the years, there have been a variety of different switch types, and some seem more firm than others, but they all fail over time. I am reluctant to swap these for a different thermostat since all my system control is from Honeywell, but it does get tiring having to jiggle the system switch to make the unit work. And this may sound a little weird, but I don't know why you move the system switch on these units down for heat and and up for cool. Shouldn't it be the other way around since you heat things "up" and you cool things "down"? Just sayin...

Works great!

Purchased this item to replace TACO thermostats that were installed 50 years ago. Although the old thermostats would call for heat when the dial was manually cranked up, in normal operation the old thermostats did not. These units display the actual temperature and whether or not the unit is calling for heat. If I were doing it again, I might consider purchasing a more expensive model that shows both the actual temperature and the programmed temperature.

Quick service and exactly what we needed

We are using these to replace a couple analog thermostats and needed the vertical size to fit in the space. These thermostats fit our needs exactly. Easy to set up and program and PexSupply got them to us quickly and for a great price!

Well Built, weak install instructions

Bought to replace old mercury thermostats. new units have six wiring terminals with no instructions for how to hook up the existing two low-voltage wires. Tried several combinations, all resulting in heater running non-stop. Seems foolish to have to hire an electrician to install a thermostat, but their wiring diagram looks like one of John Madden's football plays.

Currently, Honeywell does not offer a plate to mount 2000 series thermostats on an electrical box.

Yes it will work on a standard electrical box. It's not really a bracket, but the holes line up appropriately.

The hold button is to temporarily over ride the programmed settings you have on the thermostat. To remove the hold and return to the programmed settings, hit the hold button again.

It holds the desired temperature regardless of the program settings. Press it and set the temperature for what you wish to hold the room at. Simply press the run button to return to your normal program when you no longer wish to hold a specific temperature.
