Easy install and excellent Price

We renovated our laundry room area and this flush mounted box enabled use to place our washer and dryer flush against the wall giving us the freedom to put a countertop over them. The ease of installation with the hydro pex fittings purchased on the site was so simple. The price was incomparably less than those large home centers.

Good Value

Appears to be the lowest cost solution to install a washer box. Plastic housing seems to be cheap and brittle, but works fine. 1/4 turn ball valves are decent, however they are slightly difficult to turn and will spin in the box, unless torqued tightly to the aforementioned cheap box (which is a concern). Recommended for cost savings only. Would not install in a higher end project.

Great product

Used this on my latest repipe job. The valves are great quality and look nice too (I find that clients tend to really like blue and red color coding when it comes to their plumbing.)The box isn't as bad as people are making it out to be, it's the same quality as every other washing machine box I've ever used, and better than the ones that come standard in a lot of houses. The valves mount very securly to the box. Only gave 4 stars because of the way they're packaged; both valves are put loose in a plastic bag together, which is really stupid because they are heavy brass valves, they knock against eachother and chip the paint off the handles during shipping. Clients spending thousands on a full repipe don't want chipped handles on their valves. This could also damage the barbs on the pex connection points, causing leaks. They need to be packaged better.

washer box

Installing 10 to 15 of these a week in an apartment renovation project. Seems well made and has multiple mounting options. Brass fittings are heavy and assembly is straightforward.

Works Well

Installed this to replace an old ghetto galvanized hookup system. Installed easily and quickly. The shutoffs work well and the 2" drain pipe slot fits great.

Installation easy

Simple to install. I am no plumber and lack any soldering skills. Idiot proof. I would like to see PEX throughout the house.

The box measures 7-1/2" x 5-3/4" (+ another 1/2" for the drain connection) x 3" deep. The frame measures 10-3/8" x 8-1/4".

The box 7" x 9" wide, plus a few mm on each side for slots for the mounting tabs. I still haven't figured out how it is supposed to mount. The outer dimensions of the finish frame are about 8-1/2 x 10-5/8. Jim

Q: When you say the box is designed to fit 1.5" PVC, are you referring to the drain? What connectors (part number & brand) do I buy to go from 1/2" PEX tubig to the valves?

Asked by 14 years ago

The drain is 1.5" PVC. The valves accept 1/2" PEX using a crimp or clamp connection. You would need a crimping or clamping tool, along with the corresponding 1/2" rings in order to make the fitting.
