Product Highlights

Product Highlight: Voltage
95/270 VAC

Description

–
Mode of Operation - Designed in a small, easy-to-mount case, the ICM491 continuously monitors incoming line voltage for errors. When line power is appropriate, the ICM491 closes a set of N.O. contacts and lights a green LED. When incoming power is outside of user selected parameters, the N.C. contacts will close and a red LED will illuminate, indicating current fault conditions. This unit also interrogates the line during fault conditions to reduce nuisance trips from transients or compressor start ups.

Features
  • Low cost single phase motor protection
  • Built in anti-short cycle protection
  • Detects high/low voltage conditions
  • Helps prevent rapid system recycling
  • LED indicators:
    • Green for normal conditions
    • Red for fault
  • Heavy duty SPDT, isolated relay output
  • Interrogation delay prevents nuisance trips: 5 seconds

Good product, works as intended

I used this device to monitor power from a portable generator feeding a manual transfer switch in a residential application. Control circuit is connected to a contactor that disconnects load from generator if over/under voltage occurs. It would be nice if the anti-short cyle delay was adjustable, but device is a great value compared to fully adjustable industrial relays costing 3 times the price.

The new ICM491 has the same problem

The original undervoltage product was switching back and forth turning off the compressor. I would switch between the NO and NC contact to get the compressor running again. I purchased a new ICM491 Single Phase Motor Protection, 95-270 VAC and installed it exactly as the original product was wired. It was doing exactly the same thing the previous one was doing.

Needed for A/C electric blips

Great service, unknown operation of the unit, we haven't had any electrical blips while A/C was in operation. Feel confident. Thanks!

Tired of racing for the breaker when lights are dim.

Bought 2, 1 for each side of120v inputs to sense and control Grid-switch . No power is much better than low power as that creates smoke in my motors. Not hooked it in yet to my service . Still in the schematic design stage.

Second failure

I ordered two of these ICM491C controls, one for each AC system. One of them failed within a month. Supply House accepted return and replaced it. That was 18 months ago and the replacement has failed. Now out of warranty. I'll look for some other brand.

Simple and effective

I installed two of these voltage monitors on my central air conditioning systems. I was warned about low voltage causing damage, and I did have two motor failures prior to installing the monitors. Too soon to have a very long track record, but they are very straightforward to install. I did have a problem with one monitor, but Supp;ly House solved the problem completely, promptly, with no arguments. Surely would buty from them again.
