Hey RVers!! Heres the solution!!!

I bought a brand new 2018 Winnabago Micro Minnie. The Atwood supplied thermostat for the furnace (only) required a 3ft pry bar to move the switch from on to off.. and vice versa. Needless to say, the thin plastic lever broke. Reading on RV forums, they all break. How long has Atwood/Dometic been making these? 10 years, 20? 30? Yet, they keep pumping them out without solving the problem. I searched for a solution. Read RV forums for days. Lotsa advice for those people with huge RV'S with heat and AC controlled thermostats.. None for people like me. I found this Simple Comfort Heat only thermostat from Supply House. It digitally displays ambient temp with a back light. Simple controls to increase or decrease temp. Most importantly, an on-off switch that doesnt require a sledge hammer and a block of wood to move!!! Super Fast shipping ! Excellent communication (Order received, order shipped, tracking) 2 screws to remove the old, 2 screws to remove the red wire and whote wire, 2 screws to install the new Simple Comfort thermostat, 2 screws to secure the wires into clearly marked terminals, indtall the batteries (supplied), I'm informed its 64F in my little 18 ft camper, set the temperature to 70F, move (effortlessly) the switch to ON and immediately.. The furnace kicked on. Now, we dont need an old fashioned, hard to read thermometer on the wall! I compared the reading, side by side with our 8 month old super dooper high tech Trane thermostat and there was a one degree diffetence. Im very happy!!

Minimum differential not suitable for steam

This is a nice basic thermostat. But the differential or swing specs are either misleading or not stated accurately. The specs say the diff can be set between 1 and 5 degrees. But that is not true. When set to the minimum of 1 degree, the swing is actually 2 degrees,1 degree either side of the set temperature. This is not nearly tight enough for many applications, including my steam system. It resulted in huge overshoots.

This is a product I would use again.

I use this in my 2021 Sonic travel trailer. Didn't like the OEM one that came with it. Much rather have a digital read out. This thermostat was a breeze to install.

I would not buy

I had a new boiler installed nearly two year ago and had two simple comfort 1600L thermostats installed. On 10 /3/2021 I had to replace one of the thermostats with a new one. The defect was caused by a leaking battery. The acid ran down along the board causing the malfunction. This prevented the thermostat to not shut off at any setting. The boiler kept running. My suggestion is to route the batteries to side or bottom of the unit. This would prevent failure of the unit.

Q: This stat comes with 1° F differential on/off temp. I know it can be changed to something greater than that. But, none of the specifications say what the actual range of adjustment is. What is the on/off temperature range? Also, what is the part number of the remote sensor and do you stock it?

The turn on temperature differential can be user adjusted between 1 to 5°F. The turn off temperature differential is 1°F, fixed. This unit is capable of remote sensing when used with the ACC-RT104, and cutting the on board thermistor. if it uses 24 volt controls it should work

Yes. I've been using one for five years. The fireplace has a milivolt gas valve and I simple connected the thermostat in series with the on/off switch. The temperature control is very precise as long as the thermostat is set to the default +/- one degree differential. Batteries last for ever.
