I've installed several dozen of this valve and have not had a problems. It is inexpensive but seems to be of sufficient quality.

great for DHW application
I bought a pair of these to connect to the domestic hot water coil in my boiler for cleaning. I couldn't find lead free boiler drains at the local big box stores, which is just as well because these were half the price of the ones they did carry. And they work great.

These worked great, but make sure you are shipped the right ones, 3/4" do not fit when 1/2" were ordered.

Q: One of these is now leaking somewhat from the stem valve when it is more than 30% open. Is there some quick adjustment I can do to stop the leak, or is replacement the only option? It is being used as a washing machine water inlet shutoff valve in an inconvenient location.

Turn off the water supply. Remove the handle and the packing nut around the shaft.Roll up some teflon thread tape into a string like size and wrap it around the shaft a few times. Reinstall the packing nut and retighten until snug and reinstall handle. The teflon tape makes a good packing to seal shaft leaks.

Q: In addition to the 1/2" mip threads connection ability, is it also possible to sweat 5/8 o.d. copper pipe into these valves?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffYes, the inlet to these valves can accept either 1/2" female threads or 1/2" copper pipe (i.e. pipe with a 5/8" OD).
